In the end I moved to Leiden, in Holland, and, well, it’s amazing; and among all the amazing stuff, the most amazing town i’ve visited yet is Rotterdam.
Rotterdam, a city for architectural photographers
For an architectural photographer, Rotterdam is a sandbox: Rem Koolhaas, MVRDV, Neutelings & Riedijk, Erick van Egeraat, Renzo Piano. All of them waiting for your camera along with wide open spaces that give you the chance to get good shots even without tilt-shift lenses.
I went with some new friends and even if I was not 100% focused on taking photos, I pulled out some interesting shots.
It was quite easy: Rotterdam has many wide open spaces and that helps when you want all the building into the frame, plus some more space to straighten up the building in post processing. The weather was not the best and we were in town rather late. Still I believe the clouds actually add something to the whole skyline to the photos (I would have preferred a clean sky to get a more minimalist style though.)
Unfortunately I don’t have internet at my place yet and uploading, tagging, sorting all the photos is quite problematic. I am using my university’s internet in order to get the website, shop and Facebook page going on again, but it will take at least a month before everything will be smooth again. Until then, I hope you enjoy the new shots.
